2A Biosciences is harnessing the serotonin system to fight inflammatory diseases.
Chronic inflammatory diseases are the greatest threat to human health according to the World Health Organization (WHO), and 3/5 deaths worldwide are due to chronic inflammatory diseases.
This inflammatory crisis motivated 2A Biosciences, a team of serotonergic and GPCR experts, to apply its proprietary mechanistic insights and computational capabilities to a new class of medicines: Serotonergic Anti-Inflammatories (SAIs). SAIs block serotonin’s pro-inflammatory cascade, enable potent anti-inflammatory effects, and restore homeostasis without immunosuppression.
